Cultivating Joy Through Shopping Small

Someone recently asked me what I was most passionate about. It seemed like a daunting question, but the words left my mouth before my brain had a chance to catch up: shopping small. As soon as I processed what I had declared, I realized how true it was. That personal manifesto, if you will, has shaped who I am as a consumer over the past few years.

It started simple enough: with a wake-up call caused when the pandemic forced small businesses to either shut their doors permanently or creatively pivot their business models. I am lucky to live in a neighborhood that is shaped by the businesses and people who run them. I couldn't imagine a world without them in it. As a result, I started to not only think critically about where I spend my money but also try to elevate those voices to my network of friends and family.

Finding brands with transparent business practices can be overwhelming. That is why I LOVE endless world. If you have made it to this page, you already know that endless world is an online retailer that is dedicated to elevating homegrown brands. I interpret that to mean that each curated piece tells a story - not just about the woman who brought it to life - but the community that she supports by sourcing native materials and employing locals. I feel a sense of pride when I wear my endless world items and I take every opportunity to shout it from the rooftops! But don't take my word for it - I implore you to check out their “Our Purpose” page - trust me, you'll be impressed.

My endless world Haul!!

Now is the fun part! I had been counting down the days to the endless world launch (did anyone else wake up at 6am to make a purchase, or was that just me?) and am excited to share with you some of my favorite items from their first drop. I hope you love the pieces as much as I do!

The Trendy Piece

Sthala Patta Trucker Jacket

Of all the items in the collection, the one I immediately gravitated to was the Sthala Patta Trucker jean jacket. It is incredibly comfortable and adds an edge to an otherwise plain outfit. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on this piece or how often I wear it. If you are looking for something that makes you stand out - this is the jacket for you.

The Statement Tee

Dazey LA Resilient Tee

You know that feeling when you have an item in your shopping cart and you don't follow through, but then it haunts you for the rest of the day? The Dazey LA Resilient top was that item for me. Let me tell you, this is not your ordinary t-shirt. Not only do I feel like a bad-ass in this Dazey LA Resilient top, but it is also SO soft and looks even better in person!

The Flirty Piece

JODI Marigold Midi Dress

The marigold pleated midi dress from Jodi Life is feminine and gorgeous. Featuring multiple layers of lightweight yellow cotton - it’s the kind of dress that makes you want to twirl the moment you put it on. I work in the events industry and this dress is the kind of versatile piece I look for. I can wear it while working a warm-weather program and then throw on a pair of heels and seamlessly transition to a night out with the team.

The Lounge Set

Exhale Cropped Sweatshirt

My haul wouldn’t be complete without something comfy I can wear around the house. The message on this piece is subtle, but it’s there - “Be You”. At 30, I can confirm that there is no one else I would rather be - and thanks to this Exhale Label cropped sweatshirt, everyone else knows it too :)

The Perfect Gift

Maisha Joyful Jam Wallet

Gift giving is my love language. I rarely go shopping without finding at least one item for someone else. Endless world has a great collection of artwork, throws and bags, but I settled on this Joyful Jam wallet by Maisha. It’s stylish AND functional - the perfect gift combination.

Love,

Emily
